Identity Crisis Part 2

Yesterday was a busy busy day. Derod and I actually had to plan the day quite beforehand so as to fit all our obligations and scheduled gatherings in.

One part of the day involved attending the party of my ex-colleague's 1 year old at a chalet on the eastern part of the island. It was nice seeing all my ex-colleagues again and even nicer when there were compliments that I've returned to my pre-pregnancy figure seemingly with much ease and that I don't look at all haggard or tired. One colleague was even shocked that I am no longer working. "Don't look like lei" was the comment he gave after eyeballing me. Nice to be encouraged that seven months of staying home hasn't made me a 黄脸婆.I've got no intention of coming anywhere near that status so it's just nice that a bunch of people who haven't seen me for some time don't detect auntyism anywhere.

Disclaimer: my "pre-preg figure" doesn't mean I'm flubber free. I've never been flubber free. On the contrary, I've always been flubbery.

Now on the subject of the pre-preg figure, I've decided it's time to pick up the pace and up the adrenalin levels and go on a quest to live healthier and look better. That mouthful simply means I've decided to start exercising. So the last event of the day was a date with four other friends at a badminton court. After two hours of attempting to run around, I went to get dinner at a coffeeshop near home. Still clad in shorts, tee and sports shoes, I was ordering bah chor mee when the kind lady asked if I wanted spring onions in my soup. "Yeah sure" was my reply and she said something in response that consisted of "小孩子and不喜欢". Retarded for about five seconds, I then wondered what transpired so I asked for her to repeat herself. Turns out she said "小孩子通常不喜欢加葱头."

Ok. That seriously got me stunned. I know I tend to look younger than my age but really, isn't that pushing it a bit?

But let's put things into perspective. I am a stay at home mother about to hit the big three-o. But I don't look like a mother, don't look like one facing my son 24-7, don't look my age. It's Identity Crisis Part 2. But this part, I like ;p
