Gabe has been deciding that he should stay up for at least 2-3 hours each night, requiring more feeds and attention. Thank God for the confinement lady (CL), who helps me to look after him in the nights so that I can get good rest, at least for this month. As he tends to get restless from 10pm onwards, derod has been pacifying and spending time with him.
Yesterday night, we decided that after his 10pm feed, he should get some sleep and allow for all of us to rest for a good 3-4 hours, before he does his night-watch (CL says he zo "mang ga li"). So, derod put him down on his pink bouncer (aka pinkie) and started to whisper monotonous stuff in attempt to get him to sleep. At one point, derod decided to whisper Gabe a story: the three little pigs. Let me attempt to get as close to his actual words as possible.
Derod: Once upon a time there were three little pigs and a big bad wolf. The big bad wolf wanted to eat the little pigs. He came to the house of the first little pig. It was made of wood.
Cheoklet: ?!??!?!?! STRAW! (in a shocked, loud whisper)
D: Oh... straw. Then he blew the house away, and makan the little pig.
C: ?!??!?!?! The pig ran to the second little pig's house *rolled eyes*
D: Oh... so the little pig ran to the second little pig's house, which was made of (looked at me) wood?
C: *nodded in resignation*
D: (to Gabe) wood.
The rest of the story, told in summary, went on without much deviation from the real thing. I told derod that he must read the series of ladybird stories (ahem... M...) before Gabe reads them.

I think derod was right... I searched the internet for the story and the wolf really ate up the 1st two pigs... But M the ladybird consultant said he remembers both versions (eaten up & running to brother's house) so well... none of us were wrong. Hehe
