It's scientific

According to http://www.pregnancy-guide.org/pregnancy.php,

Increased sensitivity to odor
It's not uncommon if you're newly pregnant to feel repulsed by the smell of a bologna sandwich or cup of coffee and for certain aromas to trigger your gag reflex. Though no one knows for sure, this may be a side effect of rapidly increasing amounts of estrogen in your system.

I still wanna complain that all the exhaust from vehicles come offending me everyday!!!

My Expert Nose

My nose has been especially sensitive of late. In the past, it's simple to tell what soup cora jie made with just a whiff of my nose once I stepped through the door. But the sensitivity I'm referring to here is not as simple as that. Here're some incidents that happened:

I concluded the first day of the lunar seventh month was upon us while being shut in my house for one entire day. The windows in the house were all facing the road (with no burning barrels in sight whatsoever) and the winds were strong this season, but I still felt the air was terribly wrong, polluted. And any funny smells from the printer, vehicles, etc, will just be so strong it's hardly bearable. The weird thing is: no one around seems to share my complaints.

The latest incident, which just happened la, got me in my office seat sniffing the air. I was telling my colleague I smelt you tiao. She nicely said that my nose a bit the *ahem* sensitive. And that smell got me craving, and wondering whether any you tiao is sold in the 500 li radius. Anyway, after some time, I decided to get a drink, only to find a small gathering of people outside nibbling on otah and guess what?! There was a small plate of you tiao sitting there, and nobody was interested. Muahahahahahahaah!

In Loving Memory of Rocky

I'm a day late in posting this.

Rocky's gone for three years now. I still remember that derod promised to get a tux for him to wear at our wedding if he managed to survive till then. But alas, Rocky deteriorated so much we had to let him go.

Every now and then, I still tell derod that I miss him. It's funny that so much emotions can come out of and from Rocky's death. You know that the one you love will not return and that deepens the pain inside.

Piggy did a list of things we'd always remember him for. The list has some adding-on to do but it's enough to bring back those vivid scenes.

More shots

More pictures from the City Exhibition. We received a large crowd that day at the Opening. The students went about preparing for a way to "unveil" the banner and due to lack of time, came back with a large red ribbon equivalent of the hong hua xiu qiu. It sprouted much laughter. I wonder what was going through the mind of those who went on to cut the ribbon.

This is how the ID exhibition looks like. The panels are supported by made-to-measure metal bars, specially designed and configured by our ID students. As it is a U-shaped glass enclosure, it looks like a really nice gallery.

A view of the aki exhibition. It sneaks you a peek at the upper level ID one.

Eh... me and the core group of students who ran this whole thing.

And whadayaknow?! My parents got shot again!! This is so where's-wally.

City Exhibition 2006

The exhibition is over and I could literally feel the load off my shoulders. I must say I kinda enjoyed the Opening.

Parents were there and my colleague snapped a picture of them viewing the models, without knowing who they are. So imagine my surprise when I saw them appear on the computer screen when reviewing the pictures.

The Industrial Design students were so kind to let me take a picture on the prototype of their design, that is otherwise labelled "please do not sit" to everyone else. Thanks Priscilla and Eugene!! Onio has visited the Salone Internationale del Mobile (Milan International Furniture Fair) this year, and is the award-winning entry for competitions.
